Fall 2022
As we move towards the close of 2022, the LIA Community Co-op is beginning to take shape. We’ve been able to accomplish some construction over the past few months with an all-new HVAC system being installed. Our staff cannot wait for the market, learning kitchen and other areas to open for this new program and the community of neighbors who will become its heart and soul. Here is a list of what has transpired so far:
In June, EmpowerU the LIA education and support program was able to move on site.
EmpowerU classes were expanded to include LIA Housing residents in the program.
LIA Staffing has shifted with a team of directors overseeing the onboarding of new software, food procurement, and client relations.
Funding in place is now $381,494!
Additional funding of $118,506 is needed for the cost of operation.
Due to construction challenges the launch date has changed a bit over the months. We now anticipate being able to launch in May 2023.
