“FAITH, LOVE, and HOPE… These are what make Community Care Volunteers AMAZING!!
We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 1:2-3)
Community Care at Love in Action encompasses a wide array of services and ministries that allow us to serve some of the most vulnerable persons in our community. Every Community Care volunteer demonstrates through their words and actions that their ministry is produced by faith, their work is prompted by the love of Christ, and their willingness to serve and inspire hope in our clients’ lives.
Do you know who answers every call that comes into LIA? Receptionists! They listen and offer help and hope, sign clients up for access to one of our partner food pantries, schedule appointments, and guide all callers to the appropriate department or staff member. On any given day of the week, our receptionists answer up to 100 calls!
Do you know who gives their time to listen to, empathize with, discern services to meet needs, and offer prayer with each client who comes to our office at Ferry St.? Client Advisors!
Do you know who gets invited into clients’ homes and given opportunities to offer practical help and prayer? God’s Helping Hands Team Members!
Do you know who is on-call every week, willing to pick up food from a local food pantry, deliver it to homebound people, and often have the opportunity to pray for that client? Our Food Delivery Drivers!
Thank you to every Community Care volunteer for what you do to inspire faith, love, and hope in the lives of people who are served by Love in Action!” -April McAboy, Director of Community Care
