At Love in Action the mission truly is simple. Occasionally it can sound complicated with dozens of ministries and partners all working together to meet needs. And often individual lives are complicated. Yet our true mission is simply to build up, encourage, and restore what is broken. As St. Paul once put it, we seek to encourage each other and build each other up. For each of us there are places of brokenness. LIA is a community of people who come around each other with the love of Jesus.
For a single parent, stretching a budget as far as possible each month to make ends meet, this may include a visit to a pantry. For a local waiter, whose job does not include health insurance, it may mean a visit to the doctor or dentist. For a family whose life has been interrupted by sickness or other crisis, it may mean assistance with rent or housing. But in each situation, for every person who walks through the Love in Action front door, we seek to be a place where lives are rebuilt, where each person is offered a hand up.
Therapist and pastor Craig Lounsbrough writes, “Vulnerability creates unimaginable space to build each other up, as much as it creates ample room to tear each other down.” I want to thank you for helping us to turn those vulnerable spaces in each life into opportunities for building up instead of tearing down. Your generosity opens doors, encourages hearts, and restores lives. If you are able, your financial gift will truly make a difference in a time when needs are again growing. We cannot do it without you…
