The LIA Storehouse: Building a Brighter Future
We are thrilled to announce an exciting new chapter for Love in Action: the LIA Storehouse.
Over the past two decades, our current Donation Processing Center at 1106 Fulton St. has served as the heart of our operations, processing countless donations of food, clothing, furniture, and other essential items to support our community. However, with the increasing needs of our community, we have outgrown this space.
Since 2017, the number of people served by our food pantries has nearly tripled. This significant growth underscores the critical need for expanded facilities.
The acquired new building is located at 323 N. Ferry St., formerly the Cook’s Appliance warehouse.
The LIA Storehouse will provide:
Increased Capacity: Over double the space of our current location, allowing us to better meet the growing needs of our community.
Improved Efficiency: Streamlined operations, including a drive-through donation drop-off for your convenience.
Enhanced Safety and Comfort: A safer and more comfortable environment for our volunteers and staff.
Improved Food Handling: A dedicated space for receiving and storing food donations.
We have already been blessed with over $1,050,000 towards this exciting project. With an estimated renovation cost of $317,000 ahead of us, we are making significant progress.
