A Community of Resources

Carla came to Love in Action due to a variety of needs. In her intake with a volunteer advisor, she shared that recently her medication had increased in cost far beyond her financial means. A chronic condition made this medication essential; without it the condition would worsen, and Carla would very likely die. The volunteer and a staff member collaborated and decided to share the need with the LIA Health Clinic. The Clinic manager was able to find access to the needed medication at an affordable rate. 

Love in Action seeks to be a collaborative ministry. Sometimes this means working with local churches. Other times another
non-profit may be the collaborative partner who makes the difference. But in this case, the necessary collaborators were within the same building. The ability to combine food resources with health care often improves lives and blesses people. In this case it likely saved a life!
